• Mission Statement

    • To provide the opportunity for any interested male or female student to learn, practice and compete in the art of fencing epee.


  • Program - LHS Fencing is an Athletic Club.  Our program is designed to help students learn the skills of fencing epee in order to:

    • Fencing Letters are awarded to those individuals that LHS Fencing determines demonstrate exceptional dedication and commitment to the sport of Fencing. Attendance and active participation in practice sessions and tournaments are important factors used in determining letter qualification.

    • Participate in the Georgia High School Fencing League (GHSFL) tournaments.

    • Compete both individually and as a team against other high school fencing teams.


  • Activities - Attend practice sessions each week. Practice includes:

    • Conditioning

    • Physical Fitness

    • Footwork Training

    • Epee Fencing Drill Training

    • Epee Fencing Instruction


  • Requirements - Participate in training practices. No fencing skills are needed Initially. Skills will be taught by Fencing Instructors. Equipment will eventually need to be purchased by the student after preliminary instruction and commitment to the sport.


  • Fees and Dues - Club fees and dues are collected - These funds continue and advance club activity by covering club expenses which include instruction costs, tournament fees, referee fees, league dues & insurance, and maintenance of team equipment and supplies.

  • Lettering Opportunity - The criteria for lettering is:

    • 80 percent attendance at practice

    • 80 percent attendance at regular season tournaments

    • Qualification for the individual championships (a top 16 finish at one tournament).


  • Season - August through March.


  • Practices are every Thursday starting after school 4:20pm - 5:45pm held at Olympic Fencers Club. Everyone must be dressed and ready to begin practice as soon as possible.


  • The Lambert Fencing Club is a member of the GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL FENCING LEAGUE, the oldest high school fencing league in Georgia and the third largest high school fencing league in the United States. GHSFL exists to provide organization, support and guidance for Georgia high schools having or wishing to develop a fencing team.

In the 2021-2022 season, the Lambert High School Fencing Team won both the men’s and women’s state championships in the same year, becoming only the 3rd team in GHSFL history to do so. This was also the women’s team’s second consecutive championship, and the men’s team's first championship ever!
